HCI Design Needs

Deliverables

The term project will require the following deliverables, all due on Monday before the lecture.

  • Project Proposal (5%)
  • User and Task Analysis (10%)
  • Design Sketches (15%)
  • Paper Prototype (15%)
  • Computer Prototype (15%)
  • Experimental Design (10%)
  • Implementation (15%)
  • User Testing and Analysis (5%)
  • Presentation (10%)

Technology

While there is no requirement on the technology your team should, we recommend using Flex to develop the client-side GUI and Google App Engine (GAE) to implement the server-side back-end services. The four implementation assignments during the first half of the semester are designed to give everyone on your team a basic set of programming skills and knowledge in Flex and GAE to implement the web application designed by your team.

Team

You will join your classmates in a team of four or five to work on the term project. Team assignment will be made by the teaching staff based on your preference for the project theme. To indicate your preference, simply add your name under the list below the theme. You can add your name to more than one list. Since only registered students are permitted to participate in term projects, please do not add your name unless you are registered. After every student has indicated his or her preference, the teaching staff will randomly form teams of four students. The team assignment will be announced in the class.
