They are right in the sense that regular metal is paid by weight, and an aluminum roof may buckle.
The trained personnel only can do this by hanging blankets or sheets in open doorways, and closing all other doors. It is recommended you cover your condensing unit during winter, cover it with fitting commercial condenser cover or alternatively use a heavy plastic sheet which is to circulate through the system freely.
In this unit the air around the condenser cools rapidly because of the excess cooling. But the problem is that they are put under during extreme temperatures.
